Open USD & Partner Rebates
Open USD is a shared-yield stablecoin issued by a 140-member consortium. Reserve interest is redistributed monthly to eligible network partners — including qualifying APT merchants.
Consortium at a glance
How rebates work
- The consortium invests the shared reserve in cash + short-dated Treasuries.
- Interest accrues to a shared pool and is netted of consortium operating cost.
- The remaining pool is distributed monthly, pro-rata, to eligible network partners.
- APT is a member and passes qualifying merchant rebates through to your dedicated rebate wallet.
Eligibility
Merchants qualify by processing at least $250,000 in Open USD volume during the trailing 30 days. Cadence: monthly.
Accounting treatment
Rebates are reportable income, not a reduction of your processing fees. APT surfaces them in a separate "Yield & rebates" panel and in your settlement reports, but does not issue tax forms for consortium distributions. Consult your accountant.
Choose an accounting policy per merchant:
accrue_to_treasury— hold rebates in Open USD in your rebate wallet.convert_daily— auto-swap rebates to USD via your off-ramp partner.
Consortium status changes
The consortium can pause an asset or chain at any time via governance notice. When that happens, in-flight payments are held (not refunded) until the consortium clears them. APT emits an open_usd.status.changed event and returns OPEN_USD_ASSET_PAUSED at settlement.
