Webhook not received — checklist
A symptom-by-symptom guide to webhooks that never arrive.
Symptom
You expect a webhook for an event but nothing reaches your endpoint.
Causes & checks
- Endpoint not subscribed to the event type — confirm in Settings → Webhooks.
- Endpoint returned non-2xx — APT marks this as failed and retries with exponential backoff for 24 hours.
- Endpoint timed out (>10 s) — return 200 immediately and process asynchronously.
- Signature verification rejecting deliveries before they are logged — check your `Apt-Signature` HMAC code.
- Firewall or WAF blocking APT egress IPs — see the IP allowlist in the docs.
Fix
Open Settings → Webhooks → your endpoint → Recent deliveries. Inspect the most recent failure for status code and response body. Use the "Resend" button after fixing.
